Mission Statement

The New Orleans Garden Society, Inc. was founded in 1919.

   The objects and purposes of this organization are exclusively for scientific, charitable, literary and educational purposes. Such purposes include communication with all garden lovers to assist and educate growers of plants in the identification and cultivation of their plants; to encourage an interest in plants in schools and in the beautification of City Park; to make New Orleans the Garden City of the country. 

   Horticulture, blower arranging, plant exchanges and book review programs are presented throughout the year. The New Orleans Garden Society Inc. gives an annual Civic Award to an organization or business for an outstanding garden or landscaping project in the New Orleans area. 

Goals

• Expand and enrich our appreciation of the. beauty and benefits of gardening
• Add to our membership, which maintaining our intimacy
• Spread the enjoyment of New Orleans area gardens through A Bewitching Affair, Membership and Outreach Activities
